Another crazy watch… O.K., this is actually a pretty cool toy. I gotta admit, I want one.

The watch ring is made by Charles Windlin. The watch ring works for a man or a woman and has an lcd screen embedded into a silver band that is edged in gold.

The only problem I see with this concept is durability since we all know that lcd screens are easily damaged and rings, no matter how carefull you are, always end up scratched and banged around.

Anyway, a stylish and sleek way to tell time.

Two crazy watches to be afraid of.

For the truely punk rock we have the Sputnik Atomic Watch. The watch looks totally hard core and may be considered a lethal weapon. The crazy watch sells for $25.99.

This watch here is also one to be afraid of, but not for the same reasons as the punk rock watch above. Seems wearing this watch attracts a lot of attention.

Japanese Watch designer PIMP created this untra hi tech watch called the Jive Turkey.

The Pimp Turkey Jive has 60 led’s inside the watch that give you a psychedelic light show on your wrist and

TokyoFlash may have started the trend of overly complicated timepieces, but others have begun walking down the same road.
Try figuring out the time on this hi tech baby! To read the time, you gotta read the colored bands… Not for the faint of heart since you first must memorize what every color means. The clock is called the Chronochrome and on the bright side, you can use it as a memory enhancement project for the kids. Get it at for around 73 bucks.

I want one for sure.

Ultra Fancy Wooden Handmade $5k Keyboard

So here’s the choice… fancy new computer keyboard or not too fancy used car. O.K. not really because I would never even imagine paying that much for a keyboard, but I guess some people are.

This is the HHKB handmade and super expensive keyboard from Japan. Each keyboard is made to order and there is a 3 month wait time between ordering the keyboard and it being shipped. I hope the 3 months is how long it takes to make one since the price tag on the HHKB is between $4k and $5K. This is not the $4.99 made in Japan plastic babies that I tend to shop for at all.

So here’s what makes this keyboard so expensive…

For one, HHKB stands for Happy Hacking Keyboard and I believe that name alone should be cause for a small discount. It’s just so wrong for a “luxury” product. I would expect some exotic name or maybe even being named after its creator, but Happy Hacking? that sounds about as expensive as calling it the Acme 37069B. If the name alone does not convince you to shell out part of your kids college fund, maybe these features will.

The HHKB is completely handmade by fine craftsmen and every key is individually laquered with something called Urashi. Urushi lacquer is made from the sap of a plant native to the northeast Asian forest called Rhus vernicifula. Items laquered with Urrushi can be traced back as much as 6800 years.

Each key receives as many as 10 individual coats of this laquer with a sprinkling of gold dust to finish it off. Now, personally, I would have a difficult time using this keyboard since the keys are polished smooth and left blank.

Oddly enough the website these are sold on is in Japanese only, maybe they skipped the english version of the site thinking the $5k wooden keyboard may not catch on in the U.S.

I must admit that as luxurious as the HHKB may be, I am much more excited about getting a really cool 50 buck flexible keyboard. Yahoo even makes them in purple! Somehow, I doubt the HHKB has any cool color choices.

Here is a Made in China gadget tha no Hi tech geek should be without, this is the Video / MP3 audio gizmo watch, yep, watch. If you want your media on the go and atttched to your wrist, check this puppy out. It has 1 gig of memory, a 1.8 inch LCD display, takes multiple video and audio formats and has an equalizer. at a video rate of 28 frames with a resolution of 160 x 128 it may not have that HD quality we are used to, but for a wrist watch, its not bad.

Windows compatible with an earphone jack for privacy… it sells for a very reasonable 55 bucks.

For hard core techies… it does work with Linux as well.
